Deal or No Deal

This card was made for an avid fan of the Channel 4 game show.

I've had this idea at the back of my mind for a while so I had found a font similar to the TV show's logo for the letters & numbers & the telephone is a Friday freebie from SJ's Little Musings. I've coloured it with a black promarker & highlighted it with a white gel pen.

Pull the box open to see the message inside!

This card is mainly about the sentiment (catchphrase)!

Challenges:

Thanks for dropping by for another short post, but I hope you enjoyed your visit.

Whatever!

This is so teen for me with "ironic pink" (to quote Dee) being ok.

I've used watercolour pencils for the clothes & hair, promarkers for the skin and metallic gel pens for the jewellery.  The letters are die cut & the numbers are hand cut from glitter card. I found a glitter glue almost the same shade as the glitter card for the stripe (similar to the recipient's own).
The glitter card has a lovely sparkle & you can see one or two glints in the photo. The metallic gel pens sparkle much better irl, as does the glitter glue.
I've layered a glittered & a black Lacey die cut circle so as to allow the glitter to show through, please excuse the extra shadow.
The intended shading around the digi was created with a blue water colour pencil. This is my first attempt so some review will be needed.

Less Traditional Valentine

-only a touch of red & pink, & no hearts!

This card is jam packed with my favourite things.  The colours (mustard, red, turquoise & pink) were inspired by The Alleyway Stamps first challenge, Be Inspired #1.  The metal swirls screamed D'vine Swirls embossing folder & the knots/holes in the bed meant eyelets.  I'm not into bunting (yet!) so I used a banner & twine for my sentiment.

I distressed the edges of the patterned paper, roughed up the twine & applied distress ink to the embossed square of card & the oval image edges.  I'm entering this card into a Passion for ProMarkers  challenge: Week 136-Theme distressing.

The Ribbon Carousel Challenge provided the sketch for this card:

I chose twine for a more natural & masculine look, instead of ribbon, to fit in with the natural wooden headboard & male recipient of the card.

There are plenty of mushrooms in my garden, though usually not in this colour scheme! With that in mind I want to enter this card into Sir Stampalot Challenge for February "In the garden".

Happy Valentine's Day!

After watching Kristina Werner's Friday Focus Video I had to try this type of fold & the Lawnscaping Challenge give me just the excuse. The hands forming the heart like the card folds.

I love Sally's ABCs & seem to use them all the time! Quinn's ABCs were the first set I bought & they look great filled with glitter (or promarkers or coloured card embossed in white).

The lips reminded me of the lips on the gorgeous A Day for Daisies digi that Tammy has generously provided for us to use in the challenge.  I've coloured them in poppy using a fine nib tip.
I really enjoyed colouring this image & love viewing it through the heart frame.

I knew I wanted to say love on the front & smile under the image inside the card, so after talking with my sis I came up with something that I hope makes sense when the card is open or closed.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

70th Birthday

This is a card for a special aunt of mine, whom I can't believe has turned 70. This is one of my favourite colours (& I hope hers), that my poor lighting isn't showing at its best. I've tried some faux stitching for a homemade feel & a banner because it's a celebration!

A little bit of decoupage & the essential glossy accents & glitter. Then add some camera shadow to complete the on the kitchen table look!

A short post, at long last I hear you cry!
Thanks for dropping by, back soon-ish :)
